Waiver Policy
The Journal of Sustainable Development of Transport and Logistics (JSDTL) operates as a Gold Open Access journal, which requires Article Processing Charges (APCs) to cover editorial and production costs. However, we are committed to supporting high-quality research from researchers who face genuine financial constraints.
1. Automatic Waivers (Low-Income Countries)
A full waiver (100% discount on APC) is available to corresponding authors based in countries classified by the World Bank as Low-Income Economies. To apply for this automatic waiver, the corresponding author must contact the Editor-in-Chief (editor.jsdtl@sciview.net) at the time of manuscript submission.
2. Partial Discounts (Lower-Middle-Income Countries)
For authors from countries classified as Lower-Middle and Upper-Middle-Income Economies, financial assistance or a partial discount (up to 50%) may be granted on a case-by-case basis. The Editor-in-Chief assesses these applications based on:
- The academic quality and relevance of the research article.
- The availability of institutional or grant funding for the authors.
- The authors' demonstrated inability to pay the full fee.
3. Institutional or Grant-Funded Research
Waiver and discount requests will not be considered if the research was funded by any state, international, or commercial grant/foundation that includes allocations for publication or dissemination expenses. Authors are required to disclose their funding sources upon submission.
4. Strict Timeline and Submission Conditions
- Before Submission Only: A formal request for financial assistance, discounts, or waivers must be submitted strictly at the time of the article's initial submission (via email to the Editor-in-Chief or stated in the Cover Letter).
- Post-Processing Ineligibility: Any request for discounts, waivers, or fee reductions made after the peer-review process has begun, after acceptance, or after online publication will be strictly declined.
- Withdrawal Penalty: Disagreement with the APC or a late waiver request after the manuscript has been formally processed or published does not exempt authors from publication responsibilities. Requesting a manuscript withdrawal at these late stages will incur an Administrative Withdrawal Fee (50% of the standard APC).
